Mary Tyler Moore

An American actress and producer who became a cultural icon for redefining the portrayal of women on television. She is most renowned for her starring roles in two of the most successful sitcoms in TV history: as the stylish wife Laura Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show and as the independent career woman Mary Richards on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Ordinary People.
